Solar Collectors
Sol Heat Solar Collectors represent the ultimate in technology and quality.
Sol Heat collectors use a technology known as 360 degree evacuated tube, heat pipe technology.
The tubes collect the sun's direct energy with a full 180 degrees of their surface area throughout the day (unlike a flat surface which is only in the optimum position once a day).
Sol Heat tubes have a vacuum within the glass walls of the tube, this vacuum works like a thermos flask preventing heat escaping back into the atmosphere and requiring no warm up time.
Our collectors also have a selective coating, which is a special ceramic coating which absorbs energy in one direction which pushes the suns energy inward but allows non to escape.
The tubes are made from borosilicate glass and require no cleaning or maintenance.
Should a tube be damaged it can be removed without effecting the operating of the system (no water will escape).
We have no mechanical seals, mirrors or switches within our tubes, nothing can wear out or stop working.
These are the most efficient and robust solar collectors ever produced, it is hard to imagine how it could be improved.
Positioning of Solar Collectors (Household)
We always try to mount our solar collectors in an unobstructed south facing direction, however we do have solutions for roofs with other orientations.
The roof angle of a domestic property has only a small effect on the performance of the solar collector, we compensate for roofs with poor angles whilst calculating the required size of the solar collector at the design stage.
If no suitable roof is available we can also disguise our solar collectors by mounting them on walls frames and even gazeboes.
Positioning of Solar Collectors
(Non Household)
We always try to mount the collectors in an unobstructed south facing direction we do have solutions for most roof types.
We often mount collectors on mounting frames, which can be designed to complement the existing roof structure and design.
We always try to mount collectors out of view from roads and other onlookers.
In certain instances we provide vandal proof cages for the collectors.
